A print is cut out with specially designed scissors. The cutting is done very fast by these highly skilled craftsmen. The Sanjhi paper cutting is a very old artform from Mathura in Uttar Pradesh, India, which was used for spiritual expression.
Mathura is one of the seven sacred cities in Hinduism, famous for being the birthplace of Lord Krishna, the Hindu god of love, tenderness, compassion and forgiveness .
